->Range: Area and short-term trend are based on species distribution models for the period 2007-2012 and 2013-2018, based on casual observations and observations from the national monitoring. Several sites have been discovered thanks to an increased survey effort.
Change in reported values are due to the use of a different resolution in the range tool (grids5x5 in 2013 and grids10x10 in 2019). ||
->Population: Population size: estimation based on species distribution modelling from presence data in the 2013-2018 period. Unit = grids1x1. In the frame of the national monitoring, the species as been detected in 32 1x1 grid cells out of 107 with suitable conditions (based on expert opinion on the field), which represents a naïve occupancy of 30%. The maximum value (1100) correspond to the number of grid cells considered as suitable by the model. The minimim value (329) corresponds to 30% of 1100. The use of population estimates (CMR) would provide an essential information on population dynamics.

Short-term trend direction: estimation based on the 47 sites surveyed both in 2010-2012 and in 2016-2018 in the frame of a dedicated monitoring. The species was present in 23 grids in 2010-2012 and in 21 grids in 2016-2018 (-4%).

Change in reported values are mainly due to the use of a different unit (grids5x5 in 2013 and grids1x1 in 2019). In addition, the population size is based on a larger number of sites surveyed. ||
->HabInfo: A large number of ponds have been dug by nature conservation organisations. Despite the improvement of the aquatic habitat, there is a lack of information on the suitability of the terrestrial habitat, and its efficiency to connect the different populations. Investigations have been recently initiated in this frame. Hence, habitat area, quality and connectivity are evaluated as insufficient ||
->Future: The future prospect for the range is poor as its current extent is due to an isolated and small population located in the north of the country. Recent improvements have been recently undertaken, but the efficiency is not yet demonstrated.
Population and habitat are considered as poor as well as conservation measures taken recently could not yet counter the observed decline, and further informations are required to understand the reason. The terrestrial habitat is still under pressure by some farmland activities and roads. ||

->Range: Gatunek jest względnie równomiernie rozprzestrzeniony na terenie całego kraju, stąd FRR uznano za zbliżony do aktualnego.
Do obliczenia całkowitej powierzchni zasięgu w regionie biogeograficznym użyto standardowego algorytmu IT-tool. ||
->Population: Minimalną wielkość populacji podano w oparciu o liczbę pól 1x1km. Dane pochodzą z Atlasu płazów i gadów Polski oraz danych monitoringowych. Założono, że w jednym atlasowym kwadracie 10x10km jest co najmniej jeden kwadrat 1x1 zasiedlony. Pomimo, że gatunek jest nadal pospolity odnotowuje się zanik części stanowisk oraz sytuacje, gdy nie jest ponownie wykrywany podczas monitoringu. Część zaobserwowanych sytuacji zniknięcia gatunku ze stanowisk zapewne wynika z trudności z wykryciem gatunku, jednak wyniki monitoringu są zbieżne z wynikami badań z Niecki Nidziańskiej (Bonk i Pabijan 2010), gdzie odnotowano zanikanie tego gatunku. Na podstawie danych z zacytowanej pracy wydaje się, też że gatunek jest rzadszy na obszarach o intensywnej uprawie ziemi. Liczba stanowisk gatunku, pomimo szerokiego rozprzestrzenienia spade, stąd należy przyjąć, że FRP mierzona liczbą kwadratów lub stanowisk powinna być więszka niż w chwili obecnej. ||
->HabInfo: Podczas monitorignu GIOŚ stwierdzono zanik części zajętych przez gatunek zbiorników rozrodczych, oraz zanik zbiorników potencjalnie możliwych do zajęcia przez gatunek. Wiele istniejących stanowisk bez ich odtworzenia (zbiorniki antropogeniczne) może w dającym się przewidzieć czasie zaniknąć. Ponadto, zanikowi siedlisk sprzyja regulowanie cieków, które po regulacji nie mogą tworzyć nowych starorzeczy. Siedlisko lądowe cierpi głównie na chaotycznej zabudowie i fragmentacji siecią dróg. Drogi, nawet jeżeli nie zmniejszają w danej okolicy znacznie powierzchni dogodnego lądowego siedliska powodują to jego fragmentację. ||
->Future: Zasięg tego szeroko rozpowszechnionego gatunku nie powinien się zmienić, jednak zanikanie siedlisk i odnotowane zmniejszanie się liczby znanych populacji sugerują, że perspektywy dla tych ostatnich parametrów są słabe. ||
->Conclusion: Obecnie gorzej oceniono stan populacji. Wyniki badań monitoringowych sugerują, że traszka grzebieniasta dość szybko zanika w regionie kontynentalnym. Wykryte tempo zaniku (monitoring GIOŚ) sugeruje wręcz ocenę U2, jednak mając na uwadze, że część stwierdzonych zaników na stanowiskach może wynikać z niewykrycia gatunku oraz fakt licznego występowania gatunku w wielu miejscach w Polsce, póki co ostrożną oceną stanu populacji wydaje się U1. Zmiana ta nie wpłynęła na ocenę ogólną stanu ochrony i jest ona taka sama jak w poprzednim etapie raportowania. Stan siedliska oceniono jako niezadowalający co potwierdzają wyniki monitoringu tego gatunku w regionie kontynentalnym. ||

Gatunek jest jeszcze względnie częsty na niżu i występuje w wielu środowiskach. Zmiany w rozmieszczeniu i zasięgu pomiędzy okresami raportowania wynikają z innych danych i zapewne tylko w niewielkim stopniu mogą wynikać z realnego stanu.
Populacja:
Pomimo, że traszka grzebieniasta tworzy miejscami dość liczne populacje, wyniki monitoringu sugerują, że gatunek może być w zaniku, stąd nie można było stanu ochrony gatunku ocenić lepiej niż U1, przy czym ocena U2 wydaje się w chwili obecnej zbyt niska. W przyszłości należy się jednak spodziewać dalszego zanikania gatunku i pogorszenia oceny stanu populacji. Stan populacji, zgodnie z obecnym stanem wiedzy należy ocenić gorzej niż w poprzednim etapie raportowania, gdy oceniono go na FV. Zmiany te wynikają głównie z lepszego stanu wiedzy o sytuacji gatunku w regionie.
Wartości referencyjne (zasięg i populacja):
Wartość referencyjna zasięgu jest taka jak w poprzednim raporcie (równa aktualnemu). Obecny zasięg i populacja powinny jeszcze wystarczyć do zachowania gatunku. Jednak biorąc pod uwagę, że liczba stanowisk gatunku prawdopodobnie szybko się zmniejsza, należy uznać, że obecnie FRP powinna być większa niż aktualna. W poprzednim raporcie FRP została uznana za w przybliżeniu równą aktualnej.
Siedlisko gatunku:
Ocena siedliska gatunkuj jest obecnie taka sama jak w poprzednim etapie raportowania. Obserwuje się zanik wielu zbiorników rozrodczych lub ich przekształcanie w kierunku siedlisk niedogodnych dla większości płazów, w tym traszki grzebieniastej. Ponadto, siedlisko lądowe staje się bardziej pofragmentowane w wyniku chaotycznej zabudowy, asfaltowania dróg, które dotychczas były drogami gruntowymi. Takie działania, nie tylko zmniejszają powierzchnię siedliska, ale zwiększają też ryzyko śmiertelności np. w wyniku rozjeżdżania przez pojazdy.
Perspektywy ochrony:
Ze względu na zanikanie gatunku oraz liczne zagrożenia i oddziaływania, w tym globalne jak rozprzestrzenianie się chorób w tym Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis, należy uznać, że perspektywy są niezadowalające. Jest to ocena taka sama jak w poprzednim etapie raportowania.
Ocena ogólna: Ocena ogólna jest taka sama jak w poprzednim etapie raportowania. Wynika ona z niskiej ocena stanu populacji perspektyw ochrony i siedliska.

The population numbers are based on the number of known localities from Species Observation System - Artportalen (11000) multiplied by 200 individuals per locality. The population in the continental and boreal zone is estimated based on the assumption that 75% of the salamanders reside in the Boreal zone. ||
