->Range: Three isolated populations are known in Luxembourg.
Short-term trend: Two of the three known populations were recently discovered, but were likely existing and therefore are not considered as new.
Changes in reported values are mainly due to improved knowledge (rediscovering of two historical populations), and the use of a different resolution (grids5x5 in 2013 and grids10x10 in 2019). ||
->Population: The change is mainly due to the rediscovering of two populations of which the existence was unknown for decades. However, recently applied conservation measures have led to a successful spreading of individuals at local scale, suggesting a genuine relative increase.
In 2018, a pilot capture-recapture in one of the three sites estimated the population size at 64 individuals (34-94; 95% IC). The short-term trend is considered as stable using grids1x1 as unit.
Changes in reported values are mainly due to improved knowledge, and the use of a different unit (i in 2013 and grids1x1 in 2019). ||

->Range: Zasięg gatunku w przybliżeniu obejmuje cały region ALP, w regionie CON występuje on jedynie na pogórzach i w części gór nie wchodzących w skład regionu ALP. Na obszarze tym tworzy strefę mieszańcową z kumakiem nizinnym, stąd trudno stwierdzić, czy wszystkie stwierdzenia kumaków z tego obszaru dotyczą kumaków górskich czy mieszańców kolejnych pokoleń, które w zależności od udziału genów gatunków rodzicielskich mogą być bardziej podobne do kumaka nizinnego lub górskiego.
Do obliczenia całkowitej powierzchni zasięgu w regionie biogeograficznym użyto standardowego algorytmu IT-tool. ||
->Population: Minimalną wielkość populacji podano w oparciu o liczbę pól 1x1km. Dane pochodzą z Atlasu płazów i gadów Polski oraz danych monitoringowych. Założono, że w jednym atlasowym kwadracie 10x10km jest co najmniej jeden kwadrat 1x1 zasiedlony. Takie podejście stanowi zmianę metodyki w stosunku do poprzedniego raportu.
Gatunek szeroko rozpowszechniony w górach. Z powodu tworzenia streyfy mieszańcowej w regionie CON z kumakiem niznnym, trudno jednoznacznie stwierdzić, czy wielkość populacji odnosi się do czystych form kumaka górskiego, czy jego mieszańców. Niemniej, istnienie strefy mieszańcowej jest procesem, który należy chronić, stąd arbitralne przypisanie nawet będących mieszańcami kumaków do jednego z gatunków rodzicielskich i takie właśnie raportowanie ma uzasadnienie. Niemniej, należy mieć na uwadze, że w regionie CON znaczna część osobników kumaków może być mieszańcami. ||
->HabInfo: Trudno jednoznacznie ocenić trendy w siedlisku, szczególnie długoterminowe. W ostatnich latach wzrasta jednak intensywność utwardzania dróg gruntowych. Drogi gruntowe, szczególnie rzadko uczęszczane, są miejscami, gdzie w górach dość szybko gromadzi się woda (np. w kałużach i koleinach). Według różnych badań na gatunku w Europie, są one jednym z ważniejszych siedlisk rozrodczych płazów. Asfaltowanie dróg nie tylko uniemożliwia tworzenie się kałuż, ale też zwiększa szybkość poruszających się pojazdów oraz ich liczbę, co dodatkowo powoduje śmiertelność osobników i fragmentacje siedliska lądowego. ||
->Future: Zasięg gatunku jest wystarczający do jego ochrony. W regionie CON kumak ten jest naturalnie rzadki. Nie są znane trendy populacyjne, ale nie są pewne, tym bardziej że wiele wskazuje na zanik siedlisk. ||

->Other: Kumak górski i nizinny tworzą strefę mieszańcową u podnóża Karpat, stąd należy pamiętać, że niniejszy raport prawdopodobnie w dużej mierze odnosi się nie tylko do „czystych” gatunków, ale też do ich mieszańców, również zasługujących na ochronę.

Zasięg i rozmieszczenie:
Gatunek szeroko rozpowszechniony w górach. Zasięg w regionie CON występuje tylko na pogórzach i niższych położeniach górskich. Podobnie jak w poprzednim okresie raportowania zasięg oceniono jako właściwy – FV. Nie ma podstaw do przewidywania kurczenia się zasięgu.

Populacja:
W związku z niekorzystnymi zmianami w siedliskach należy przypuszczać, że gatunek powoli zanika, na co brak jednak mocnych danych. Wynika to z obserwacji zaniku części populacji zarówno w dłuższym, jak i krótszym okresie czasu.
Wartości referencyjne (zasięg i populacja):
Referencyjny zasięg uznano obecnie za zbliżony do aktualnego, ze względu na szerokie rozpowszechnienie gatunku. Gatunek najpewniej jest w zaniku jednak obecny stan populacji, przy braku niekorzystnych zmian, powinien zapewnić trwanie gatunku w dłuższej perspektywie.
Siedlisko:
W poprzednim okresie raportowania stan siedliska uznano za nieznany. Obecne tendencje do asfaltowania dróg (niszczenie siedlisk rozrodczych i fragmentacja siedlisk lądowych), ale też regulacji rzek powodują, że stan siedliska ulega pogorszeniu. Stąd obecna ocena niezadowalająca –U1.
Perspektywy ochrony:
Poprzednio perspektywy uznano za właściwe. Obecnie za niezadowalające. Ocena wynika z pogarszania się jakości siedlisk, względnie dużej liczby poważnych oddziaływań i zagrożeń, w tym pojawienia się w Polsce chorób niebezpiecznych dla płazów.
Ocena ogólna:
Jest niezadowalająca – U1. W poprzednim okresie raportowania była ona nieznana. Na taki stan rzeczy mają wpływ niskie oceny pozostałych parametrów (poza zasięgiem). Możliwe jest dalsze pogorszenie stanu ochrony jeszcze przed następnym etapem raportowania.
