Species assessments at EU biogeographical level

The Article 17 web tool provides an access to EU biogeographical and Member States’ assessments of conservation status of the habitat types and species of Community interest compiled as part of the Habitats Directive - Article 17 reporting process. These assessments have been carried out in EU 25 for the period 2001-2006, in EU 27 for the period 2007-2012, in EU 28 for the period 2013-2018 and in EU 27 for the period 2019-2024.

Choose a period, a group, then a species belonging to that group.
Optionally, further refine your query by selecting one of the available biogeographical regions for that species.
Once a selection has been made the conservation status can be visualised in a map view.

The 'Data sheet info' includes notes for each regional and overall assessment per species.

The 'Audit trail' includes the methods used for the EU biogeographical assessments and justifications for decisions made by the assessors.

IMPORTANT: Due to late delivery by Greece of the Article 17 report for 2007-2012 period, 2000-2006 Greek data have been used for EU biogeographical assessment and are displayed on this page. To consult 2007-2012 data from Greece filter 'Period' = '2007-2012bis'.

It is indispensible that trees are left untouched and forest management is kept to a minimum. Scientific name used in original MS report if different than recommended: "Limoniscus violaceus" Information provided in the field 2.8.2: 3.1.1 b) and c) values are not available Limoniscus violaceus jest objęty ścisłą ochroną gatunkową od 2004 r.; umieszczony został na Czerwonej Liście Zwierząt Ginących i Zagrożonych w Polsce oraz w Polskiej Czerwonej Księdze Zwierząt – CR; w Dyrektywie Siedliskowej UE gatunek priorytetowy, wymagający ochrony właściwych mu siedlisk i wyznaczenia specjalnych obszarów ochrony. Sytuacja gatunku nie zmieniła się od 2007 r. W Polsce znaleziony był tylko dwa razy: pod koniec XIX wieku w Puszczy Białowieskiej i w latach 20. XX wieku na jednym stanowisku na Pojezierzu Pomorskim (rezerwat „Bielinek” nad Odrą). Na podstawie istniejącej wiedzy nie można wskazać żadnego aktualnego stanowiska w naszym kraju. Wydaje się, że raczej nie występuje już na swoich historycznych stanowiskach, gdyż zarówno w rez. Bielinek, jak i w Puszczy Białowieskiej prowadzono dość szerokie badania nad Elateridae i pilnicznika fiołkowego nie znaleziono. Niemniej jednak, z uwagi na skryty tryb życia i brak badań, jego występowanie w zachodniej Polsce nie jest wykluczone; w dolinie Odry spotykane są jeszcze stare, dziuplaste drzewa, zwłaszcza dęby. Oceny parametrów i ocena ogólna, jak w raporcie 2007.
